President’s Notes

Hello and Happy June. June?? That doesn’t sound right…June already?  I need a moment.

Hope everyone had a Great May.  For Sue and I, May consisted of  the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th.   We spent those splendid days camping with Barb and Jerry Hillegass,  Don and Phyllis Harrington, Ted and Mary Newman, Pat and Kathleen Quinn.

Sue and I apparently were not the only ones chomping at the bit to get out.  I received the May Kourier announcing the Covid Campout about 9 AM and by 10:30 there were 4 emails not only saying they are coming but had already made their reservations.  Knocked my socks off!

Mother Nature was looking out for us as it was beautiful the whole time.  During the day we ventured into the Lancaster country side, in the evening we socialized around campfires.  Saturday afternoon a young lady from the Amish community pulling a wagon full of baked goods stopped in to make sure we got our supply of sugar.  A good time was had by all.

We cannot wait until the next Campout. Refreshing really doesn’t describe it.  Maybe Jersey Shore Haven will open soon and we can get some shore time in?

Sadly the Caravan is still on hold until I can get some concrete info on what will be open. Incoming president Don and I were talking about using the 2020 schedule up to and including the caravan for next year’s schedule.  Playing all of this by ear.  Hopefully by fall everything will be back to normal.

Speaking of the International, you should have received Treasurers Richard Pitts email on voting procedures and my clarification of Amendment #2 by now.  Please check them out and forward your questions, concerns, and/or your vote to me ASAP.   The international things are moving fast in this department, voting by the unit must be completed by June 15.

Until we meet again, try and get those wheels rolling, stay safe and remember, there is always something to be thankful for………..I’m thinking open Campgrounds.

Be Cool, Jody and Sue
